Welcome!
We are delighted that you are here!
Take Note! is a dedicated group of singers, from all walks of life, who live and work in eastern Connecticut.
In our free time, we perform a cappella concerts, free of charge, for the benefit of others.
We get to do what we love, while helping our neighbors! How perfect is that?
COVID-19 UPDATE
We have reached the difficult decision to postpone all of our concerts for the upcoming Fall 2020/Spring 2021 season. Our goal is to come together again in June 2021 for our annual donor appreciation concert if it is safe to gather together once again.
Meanwhile, we remain deeply connected, and offer these video messages straight from our hearts.

Take Note! Antonia Brancia
Memorial 2020 Scholarship Recipient Selected
We are so pleased to announce that vocalist Caroline Duers of Mansfield is the inaugural recipient of the Take Note! Antonia Brancia Memorial Scholarship. The $1000 scholarship was created by members of Take Note! in memory of Toni Brancia, a charter member of our group who lost her life in a car accident in 2007. The scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students from surrounding towns who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in music.
Caroline will start her first semester at the Eastman School of Music this fall. A graduate of E.O. Smith High School, Caroline was a member of the E.O. Smith Chamber Singers, the Connecticut All-State Choir, the National Association for Music Education Choir, and the American Choral Directors Association All-National Honor Choir. She was twice recognized as the highest-scoring soprano in the state, and she has had solo performances in Carnegie Hall, the Kauffman Center, and other notable venues. At Eastman, she plans to build on her previous training in classical music and expand to study jazz and musical theater. We are thrilled to award this scholarship in Toni’s memory and wish Caroline the best in her college experience! |
The $1000 scholarship is used to provide financial assistance to a qualifying high school senior or university undergraduate who will be/is majoring in the field of music at the university level. The scholarship is awarded to a student who permanently resides in one of the following eastern Connecticut towns: Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Columbia, Coventry, Eastford, Hampton, Killingly, Mansfield, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Scotland, Stafford, Sterling, Thompson, Union, Willington, Willimantic/Windham or Woodstock.
The Take Note! Antonia Brancia Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut. Please consult their web site at https://www.cfect.org/Scholarships for complete application information. |
